The things I love about West Orange are that it’s close to NYC with an easy commute and close to major highways (Rte 280 and 10). We also love the nice parks in West Orange, the Turtle Back Zoo, the West Orange Arena and South Mountain Reservation.
When we bought the property we were drawn to the location, the corner lot, the 2 car oversized garage and that the house sits up on a hill. We were also drawn to the streets very limited traffic, with two dead ends, the large square kitchen, nice porch and tons of storage space. Our neighborhood is great for anything and everything. It’s good to raise kids, because it’s very safe here.
The West Orange area is good for commuting by car or public transportation because Rte 280 and Rte 10 are in 1/4 mile from the house and express bus is going to NYC. A few other things I can mention are it’s very quiet and peaceful here where I live. People here are nice, friendly, polite and helpful.
The West Orange area offers many wonderful outdoor activities, like hiking and bike riding, jogging, swimming in the West Orange community pool, playgrounds for kids, golf courses, tennis courts, picnic areas, horseback riding, paddle-boating, archery range, fishing, cross-country skiing and ice-skating, also JCC MatroWest.
Some of our hobbies are travel, dancing & crafting.
Our utility costs are $70 for gas, $70 for electric and $50 for water.
