Can You Trust a Zillow Zestimate?

A Zestimate might seem like the best way to get a value for your home. It’s not, and here’s why.

I’m here today to answer a common question I’ve been hearing: “Can I trust a Zillow Zestimate?” The answer is simple: no.

Zillow uses an algorithm based on public data to determine a home’s value. However, there are certain things that their algorithm doesn’t take into account that can play a huge role in your home’s market value.

If you’ve added square footage to the property, for example, or you’ve updated certain rooms in the property, their algorithm won’t know that. They won’t take into account your location either, which also plays a huge role in value.

If you have a health concern, you might go to Web M.D. to see what might be causing the issues. If you’re really sick, however, you’ll go to the doctor to get a proper diagnosis. The same comparison can be made with home selling. Check Zillow to get a rough estimate of your value, but come to us if you want to get the most accurate price possible.

If you have any questions for me in the meantime, don’t hesitate to give me a call or send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
