Some of the things we love about Short Hills are it’s proximity to NYC and the extremely reasonable commute. The Short Hills Train Station is under a mile from our house, about a 15 minute walk.
When we bought the property we were drawn to the great Short Hills location, the huge 1.5 acre lot, the 7 nicely sized bedrooms including the amazing master suite and the overall layout of the home.
The Short Hills area is good for families because of the great school system. It’s also very convenient to shopping and dining.
Another great thing about living in the Short Hills area is having the Paper Mill Playhouse so close! It’s an amazing regional theater with some incredible shows… A really fun night out!
The people in Short Hills are very friendly. Our neighborhood is great for long walks, jogging and bike rides.
On average, our gas (PS&G) bill has been $50-$100 except in winter when it’s more like $150-$300 max. Our Jersey Central electric bill is about $150-$300, but we usually have 1-2 months a year that are higher, like $500. We have no charges for water because we have our own well.
